BLESSED EASTER TO ALL!

Just imagine the picture of the Savior on Easter morning who would say to the disciples and to the women "I've got to go now. Hang in there and best of luck to all of you." That would sound preposterous to all of us! The Savior would not say that!

Yet Jesus did tell the disciples that the world would not easily accept the fact of the Savior who would rise from the dead on Easter morning and proclaim a victory over sin and its eternal consequences! People would persecute Christians for that belief. Persecution still continues today as people skeptically look at the Savior on the cross and the message of Easter morning!

Jesus promised to "always be with us!" As Christians suffer difficulties, hardships, conflicts and insults, we are reminded by faith and the working of the Holy Spirit that Jesus continues to be our Immanuel - God with us!

Therefore we continue to press onward through the valleys and even the valley of the shadow of death, but we don't press on alone. No, we have the presence of the living and resurrected Savior guiding, encouraging, refining, strengthening and protecting us all along the way. And as we continue to follow the Savior, a wonderful thing happens. God displays the richness of His grace and mercy and love through us as we continue to praise the holy name of the Lord who is with us and who continues to guide us each day until we reach our heavenly home.

May the joy and strength of Easter Sunday guide each of you in that strong walk of faith in Jesus Christ! Have a blessed Easter!

Hallelujah
Jesus is Risen
He is Risen Indeed!

In Christ's Service,

Pastor Stenzel

Wee Disciples Lutheran School & Child Care Center

We are especially mindful of our huge privilege and responsibility to share the law and gospel in developmentally appropriate ways with the children in our care as we approach the Easter season.  The great stories of the first Easter include many powerful scenes. The women at the tomb, Peter and John's run to the tomb, the words of the angel to the women, and Jesus' appearance to the disciples in the upper room are wonderful.  In this Easter season we pray that the Lord works so powerfully in our lives that we stop "just talking" to each other, and actually hear Jesus tell us all He has done for us.  As we hear His voice, we too will run into any danger, any darkness-even a room full of excited children-to tell the Good News of His resurrection.

We invite everyone to our Easter Worship/Program, which will be on Tuesday, March 18th at 6:30 pm, at Trinity.  Potluck treats afterward will be a fun way to share God’s love with the families of Wee Disciples.

As we are registering for the new school year we are pleased and gratified that Grandparents are calling and helping make arrangements for their families Christian Education.  If you wish to register your child or if you know someone who may be interested in Christian Education at Wee Disciples, call Debbie at 799-5881 or Peggy at 799-4480.  We have opportunities for the summer program, preschool, K/1 and after school care.  Please let us know as soon as possible.

Easter Vacation begins with Good Friday on the 21st and we are closed - all programs.

March 24 – 28, 2008, we will be open for Childcare and plan fun activities and some academics for school age children.  If any school children from Trinity or Peace are interested, please call us to make arrangements.

St. Patrick's Day is March 17th and we are looking at being in the St. Patrick's Day Parade. We need a lot of volunteers to help us with this event.  If you are willing to help out please contact Peggy 799-4480 or Debbie 799-5881 at the phone numbers above.  We are asking families to accompany their child at the parade.  This is a fun way to witness to the community so it would be fun to have Trinity and Wee Disciples representatives.

Blessings,

Debbie Lee & Peggy Norris - Wee Disciples

A big hug and thank you to those who were brave enough to come out in the cold for the February group gathering.  You are appreciated.  The March Board Meeting will be March 4th at 2:00 pm.  The group gathering will be March 8th at 9:30 am.  At that time the nominations committee will be appointed.  Elections will be held at the April LWML Gathering.  The offices that are to be voted on will be President, Vice President of Christian Life and Vice President of Communications.  We ask that over this next month you would keep the Nominations Committee in prayer.  If the Nominations Committee were to call you, please prayerfully consider what our Father would want you to do.  Hostesses will be Marjory Fischer and Donna Hayes.

                                    Blessings to all,

                                    Sylvia Adams

STEWARDSHIP - BEING GOD'S TRUSTEE!

What all is in the bag of gifts that God has given to me?

Does God trust you with the gifts that He has given? Indeed He does for the Christian lives by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ! That sentence means that God's children get gifts that they don't necessarily deserve to get!

Peter writes in I Peter 4:7-11 "The end of all things is near. Therefore be clear minded and self-controlled so that you can pray. Above all, love each other deeply. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in various forms. If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen."

Showing thankfulness to others is a part of being God's trustee. Why not take some time during the next couple of weeks to thank those people who have enriched your lives.

Also consider the gift of God's grace - the empowering and eternal gift of God's forgiveness in Jesus Christ. How does God's forgiveness in Christ affect you in your daily life?

In summary God places a wide variety of resources in my bag - to be used as God's steward [trustee].

God gives gifts for the "common good" - and they are developed with help from others [learning to serve by seeing the good example others give].

What I am is God's gift to me. What I become is my response to God. I'm God's steward.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, giver of all gifts, maker and owner of all that exists, enable me to live with an attitude of gratitude every day. Help me to continually discover, develop, and deploy the gifts You have entrusted to me. Help me to make the most of the time You give me in this world, and help us all to confess, "We give You but Your own, in any gifts we bring; all that we have is Yours alone, a trust from You, our King!" In Jesus' name. Amen.
